What is the effect of Saddam's Arrest?
by:Nkrumah Tinsley

Following the capture of former Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein, world opinion has been very strong. Though most people seem relieved to say the least, in Saddam’s Hometown of Tikrit mass demonstrations have broken out in support of the fallen President.
Being journalist our-selves the young reporters of Harlem live set-out to find out the average man/women on the street felt about the events surrounding his capture.

How does Saddam’s Arrest bring validity to Washington’s war on Iraq? I’m not sure it brings any based on the cost of American lives or military and reconstruction bills for Iraq. Only if they catch Bin Laden will the war have any validity. Saddam’s only a threat to his own people. Not to me or any one else in Harlem or America.

What should Saddam Hussein’s punishment be? I believe The Iraqi’s should punish Saddam Hussein. Let each country handle it’s own business on their own.

What role did America’s past support For Saddam play in his rise to power? It is a very well known fact that America has supported some of the world’s biggest dictators of the past 75 years. Saddam just adds to the ever-growing list.

How do you think Arresting Saddam will affect guerilla attacks on American ground forces in Iraq? I will have to wait and see. I’m not yet sure his arrest will have any impact on the insurgencies.

Where do you think Saddam hid his weapons? I think Saddam hid his weapons in Bush’s bed, under his pillow.

How does Saddam’s Arrest bring validity to Washington’s war on Iraq? I could care less, however Bush is corrupt.

How do you think Arresting Saddam will affect guerilla attacks on American ground forces in Iraq? I think the attacks will get worse because the insurgents will want their leader back.

Where do you think Saddam hid his weapons? I think he might have hidden his weapons of mass destruction in caves.

What links do you think Saddam has to Al Qaeda? I’m sure at some point in the past they were tight. That might not be any longer. If anything there would be a power struggle between the two.

How do you think Saddam’s capture will affect guerilla attacks on American ground forces? I’m not sure I’ll have to wait to see what happens in the future

Where do you think Saddam Hid his weapons? I don’t know where the weapons are hidden, however I do think he, definitely had them.

What do you think his punishment should be? I don’ think Saddam should necessarily get the death penalty. I think it’s more logical to put him in jail without the possibility of parole.

How does Saddam’s capture bring validity to Washington’s war on Iraq? There never should have been a war in the first place. Saddam kept letting inspectors into his country and the inspectors couldn’t find anything. Finally Saddam had enough and Bush decided to take military action because he’s a bully. There didn’t have to be a war in the first place, It’s all for oil and power. How do you think Saddam’s capture will affect guerilla attacks on American ground forces? It won’t make a difference. The same way Saddam’s sons went down fighting is the same way the rest of the insurgents will sacrifice their lives for their beliefs.

Where do you think Saddam Hid his weapons? I don’t think there were weapons. Bush used the weapons as an excuse to take over the oil fields in Iraq.

What do you think his punishment should be? They should let him go because he’s not guilty of having any weapons.

How does Saddam’s capture bring validity to Washington’s war on Iraq? I think it’s important because they have to take down Saddam before does any more damage.

How do you think Saddam’s capture will affect guerilla attacks on American ground forces? I think it might it depend on how the United States can capitalize on his capture.

Where do you think Saddam Hid his weapons? I think he hid them somewhere in Iraq. Now that he’s in American custody that’s what they have to find out.

What do you think his punishment should be? I think once Saddam’s found guilty he should face the death penalty because death is all people like him understand. He’s no different than Kruschev, (former soviet president) and Joseph Stalin. They’re all dictators.

How do you think Arresting Saddam will affect guerilla attacks on American ground forces, in Iraq? I don’t think it makes Iraq or America any safer security wise. The only positive is that Bush will look better point wise.

Where do you think Saddam hid his weapons? It was never proven that Saddam ever had weapons. I’ll have to wait until a weapon is found to give my opinion.

What should Saddam Hussein’s punishment be? If an international court finds Saddam is guilty the worst
He, should get is the death penalty.
