Take A Chance

E-mail Print PDF
Starting from nothing, I was a person who was naïve,narrow-minded and careless. Sticking with the ordinary ways was much easier for me, trying something new was my greatest grudge. The thought of doing something spontaneous was frightening. What would happen if? Would I get hurt if? There were so many questions yet there weren’t many answers.

I had the support I needed from my friends to do something out of the ordinary, but I didn’t bother to do anything. Until one day a friend passed me an article that showcased WIRE’s tremendous care to animals. WIRES were looking for support anywhere so I thought its time to … make a move. I didn’t know where to start, after numerous ideas it was narrowed down to organize a fundraiser. I was familiar with the enormities of a fundraiser and started to have doubts. With no experience, I decided to take the chance. With the help of my friends we were able to pull it off.

No one knew anything about W.I.R.E.S and after performing that embarrassing stunt at assembly I was glad that some awareness was permeated. In the end, money was raised after selling cupcakes, cookies and chocolate crackles, the money raised wasn’t much but it was still something that would’ve supported WIRES. The feeling of satisfaction felt good. I owe a lot to my friends who have given me their support.
