My First And Last Theft

E-mail Print PDF

On my 10th birthday I did something very evil and low down. I was very young and unaware of the consequences. On that day I didn't receive anything from my great grandmother for my birthday. So I stole $10.00 from my granny with an angry and careless attitude. I would always peep where she would put her money. She would keep it either in her pocketbook or inside of her in table beside her bed.

I was young so I thought $10.00 was a lot of money. So while I was in school I was bragging about it to all of my friends. The girls were giving me a lot of attention and I loved it. After school that day I brought this 8th grader that I had a crush on some candy. She thanked me with a big kiss on the cheek in front of everybody.
I was feeling generous so on my way home from school I bought more candy for my sister and I. When she asked where I got the money, I told her that Dolla Bill gave it to me. He was an old man that use to drink with his friends and flirt with my mother every time we would pass by him to go to school and he would offer me and my sister a dollar.

So my sister believed me then we left the store and went home with $5 worth of candy in both of our pockets. Once I got home the first words that my granny said to me were "Hey Anthony did you see $10.00?" My response was "no" followed by my sister also saying no.
A couple of minutes later my mother came into the living room with a puzzled look on her face. Both my sister and I quickly turn our attention to mommy and away from the TV. She asked where I got the candy from. My sister replied "Anthony brought it for me". I then told her that I got it from Dolla Bill. After she told me she knew I was lying and had threatened to go and ask Dolla Bill, I finally told her the truth.  Later on that day I got the biggest whipping of my life. It lasted for about five minutes but it felt like an hour.

From all of this I really learned my lesson. So the moral of the story is stealing and lying is wrong.
