Following Yankee sluuger Darryl Strawberry's one year suspension, Elliot Frantz and Michael Lynch spoke to a couple folks near the Harlem Meer. This was their first story so photos and pertinent information is missing. We'll send them or more seasoned reporters back out tomorrow for a follow up.
How do you feel about the verdict that the baseball league gave to Darryl Strawberry?
I think that the verdict was right because he was warned about taking drugs while playing in the league more than once and he still did it again.
Do you think that putting Darryl Strawberry through rehab again will help him in anyway? Why?
I think that it¹s not going to help him unless he wants to be helped
What advice would you give to Darryl Strawberry?
Just say no.
How do you feel about the verdict that the baseball league gave to Darryl Strawberry?
I think the verdict was wrong because he has a family to take care of and that¹s his only way of getting money
Do you think that putting Darryl Strawberry through rehab again will help him in anyway? Why? No because once you are on drugs you do what you must to get it.
What advice would you give to Darryl Strawberry?
Stop doing drugs because it is hurting your life.
