Dr. Dascy is a wonderful pediatrician at St.Nicholas Houses Clinic. She has strong passion for her profession and treats her patients with the best care. I , Jaquana Mitchell , am a former patient of Dr. Dascy and her outstanding medical services.   I am very inspired by her career as a pediatrician and I hope to be as skillful as her someday.

I was very fortunate to conduct an interview with my former pediatrician. Dr.Dascy has a Medical diploma and attended medical school. She also received training at Harlem Hospital. Dr. Dascy's godfather and her parents really encouraged her to become a doctor .Ever since the mere age of five she knew that she was going to become a doctor. It started with a simple doctor's kit from her godfather and her parents nailing in her head that she was going to be a doctor. However,   Dr. Dascy didn't always know that she was going to study pediatrics. In her earlier years, she wanted to be a Internist but she changed courses. Eventually, she realized how much she loved children from her nieces and nephews.

Attending medical school was her next step. Medical School is very challenging and without discipline it is hard to succeed. As for, Dr. Dascy it wasn't difficult because she was very focused on her studying habits. She always kept her eye on her goal and just went for it. Dr. Dascy never thought of giving up at any point in her career. She knew once she was a pediatrician she would better the community. During her training at Harlem Hospital she knew Harlem was the place for her. Dr. Dascy fell in love with the people and their families. The Harlem community indeed embraced her as a doctor and she wanted to give them something in return. In return she gave her   patients her love, dedication and courtesy.

A regular day at work for Dr. Dascy can be busy at times. It starts with her coming to work at around 11:00. Then, a physical examination for the patients to check their health. During the routine examination she educates   the patients. Dr. Dascy not only bonds with her patients but she educates them about their health. She teaches them how to stay healthy as well.

Interviewing Dr. Dascy was very inspiring to my future career in becoming a pediatrician. I hope that I would be as successful and passionate as Dr. Dascy. After all ,"a courteous and caring doctor keeps the patients happy and healthy."
