This analytical activist and women's rights extraordinarie was born on July 8, 1943 in Saint Louis, Missouri. As a child growing up in Saint Louis, Faye Wattleton knew she always wanted to change the world. As a teenager during the civil rights movement Wattleton was inspired to lead a great cause and motivate change in people and she did just that for 14 years as the president of PPFA (Planned Parenthood Federation of America) fighting for the rights of young women and expecting parents everywhere. Wattleton has been an advocate for two decades on women's reproductive rights, family planning policies, and equality for women and minorities. Even after her decade and a half stint at PFFA, Wattleton is still going strong as president for the Center of Gender Equality, a non-profit research and policy development institute that focuses on making strategies for knocking down the obstacles that stop women from getting their equal rights. Wattleton has also done work outside of CGE as a speaker for women's rights rallies, several liberal-arts colleges, and is a frequent guest on the ABC show "Politically Incorrect".
