Myspace

E-mail Print PDF
Many people worldwide use websites to keep in contact with each other, to entertain, or to find a way to meet new people. Some of these websites include Myspace, Bebo, FaceBook, Hi5 and the very new website Twitter. Are these websites necessary? “I talked to various people to get their thoughts on the subject.”

Alex, an older man, has not heard of Twitter, but has heard of Myspace. He has a Myspace account but has not logged in for a long time. He believes that myspace doesn’t interfere with teenager studies, but believes that parents should watch their kids whenever they’re connected.

A teenage couple, Ray & Michelle, believes that Myspace is very boring. Ray claims that it’s just a waste of time and it needs to get updated. He says that the blogs are never updated and that people just make 1,000 friends for nothing. Myspace is good to keep in contact, says Michelle. Both of them believe that teens can still get their studies done. Twitter is so popular because it’s something new and many celebrities uses it, but it’s the same thing as every other website people log into, says Ray. Myspace is necessary to build up your social status if you’re a shy person.

Two other teens, Daquan and Kiko, believe that Myspace is a good resource for keeping in contact with others and to see what’s going on. Both believe that it has no interference in studies. Daquan says that Myspace is boring and that everyone logs on just to meet different people.

These websites are used mainly to keep in contact with one another but they are getting less popular. Overall, many people use Myspace but do not enjoy it anymore. These sites do not need to keep evolving to stay relevant. All of these websites have some different effects but is used to keep in touch with family and friends.
