It¹s 7 o¹ clock outside the world famous Apollo theater and the air is filled with anticipation and excitement. A crowd of people stand in line and await the show that they¹ve been looking forward to. After months of waiting and wondering finally the questions would be answered and the critics would be put to work. On July 10th finally the legendary Whoopi Goldberg would be performing her stand up act. This side of the Oscar - winning movie star has always been there, but it is her incredible comic genius and hard work in other areas that make people sometimes forget how funny she really can be. It has been ten years since Whoopi Goldberg last went on tour . It was that very tour in 1991 that increased her fame as a comic genius. During that ten year period Whoopi focused a lot on making movies, writing books and doing television specials. She started touring on June 19th of this year and since then has been to such cities as San Luis in California, Chicago Illinois, Columbus Ohio, and Uncasville Connecticut. On July 10th ,she stopped by in Harlem, New York and sent a wave of excitement to the people looking to laugh up a storm. This was a big show for her. Whoopi is a native New Yorker and hero to many Harlemites. You had to be eighteen and older, even if you came with an adult. However for those teens that could not see the show the very idea of Whoopi appearing at the world famous Apollo Theater show would have been enough to rock the minds of her young fans. Whoopi¹s whole stand up act revolves around the theme Candid Observations about the State of the World, told only as she can. One thing is certain, however, this tour will only fire up the love and admiration that fans have for Whoopi. In fact, Ray Samson, a long-time fan had this to say: "Whoopi is so talented that any city she goes to she will impress even those difficult critics with her incredible wit and charisma. Whoopi¹s next major project is a movie called Rat Race from Paramount Pictures. With Whoopi touring , writing books and making movies it is safe to say she has no plans to slow down and I think most of her fans are glad she isn¹t.
