The Beacon School has an excellent system of education. The teachers and other staff are very friendly, and easygoing. The classes can be quite hard, and while others, somewhat easy, such as English. The teachers at Beacon are devoted to their jobs, and truly enjoy them, most of the time. A ninth and tenth grade English teacher named Mr. Eckert stated, "I really enjoy teaching because I feel like I'm doing something that matters. Everyday is challenging and fun, and I get to work at a great school.²Then he added jokingly,² They pay me tons and tons of money." From this you can see that the teachers are pleased with their jobs and feel what they are providing is useful and meaningful. A Spanish teacher for all grades 9-12 named Mr. Senderowitz commented "I like teaching because I find it a challenge to work with teenagers. It is never dull or boring."

This goes to show that the more devoted teachers are to their jobs, and the more they enjoy their students, the better job they do as teachers. There can be teachers though who are not as devoted to their work, therefore they don't teach their students very well. This is obviously not the case at The Beacon School.A school where the teachers are fully devoted and commited to their students.

There is something that can annoy many students about their teachers, when teachers do not follow the rules that are set in the school. this is a common problem. For example, teachers confiscate CD players and hats and yell at students for chewing gum. However, the teachers sometimes walk into school chewing gum or wearing headphones, such as one of the dirwiectors of The Beacon School, Ruth Lacey. This can be a problem because it makes the students frustrated which causes them to feel like cutting class.

There needs to be a balance between the students and the teachers. As devoted as the teachers may be, the treatment in the school between the students and teachers may vary. Teachers don't get in trouble if they are chewing gum, or are late for class. They don't get yelled at if they are listening to headphones either. If the students can't do certain things, the teachers need to abide by the rules as well. This will make the environment more pleasant, and make the students want to be in class.
