Lunch at Sandys

Lunch at SandysFrom their sopa de pollo to their arroz con pollo, Sandy Lechonera Restaurant is not only known for the lechoneras but also for its lengthy amount of tasty food.

Manuel Rodriguez is the manager of Sandy's located at 2nd Avenue and 116th Street in East Harlem. He's been in business for seven years and has three more restaurants like the one on 2nd Avenue. Encouraged to cook Spanish food by its popularity in the marketplace, his experiences working inside a restaurant helped him to decide to open his own.

“It’s comfortable working in this environment,” said one of Sandy’s employers.

Rodriguez serves a little of everything at Sandy’s. Some customers come on a daily basis for his fabulous food.  “The food they make here is really fresh,” says Dulce, 51. She's been going to the restaurant every day since she first discovered it. People also call to request food for private parties and events. Sandy’s has an extensive catering menu, with prices ranging from $25 to $150, ensuring that every customer will be able to find something to suit his/her catering needs.

Lunch specials start at only $6.00 and if it’s more than one person, you can get combos starting at $15.95. Sandy’s offers great Spanish food and with its long menu, you can be sure you’ll find something you like.
