To me voting is an essential part of a nation’s growth and development. As it is voting is a major factor in choosing leadership in everything from gaining ones independence to selecting representatives to senate and a whole host of other important political ramifications. To most of the world democracy would seem the most ideal route towards choosing a leadership. In theory the allure of individual say in politics is almost too good too pass up. I however have found the perfect solution. I don’t vote. Why? Because in my 21 years (actually the last eight to be more precise) I have come to the conclusion that if democrats and republicans haven’t been able to unite the people of America quite possibly a one party system is the best solution. Look at it like this if a chain is only as strong as its weakest link then multi-party policy making in a sense is the chain that has popped beyond repair. In America (A multi-party “Democracy”) 12.7 percent of the population lives below the poverty line. As opposed to Cuba (A one party “Dictatorship”) in which the government makes most all decisions as they relative to private business and land ownership. Cuba has an amazing 97% literacy rate. In all honesty voters need not be rocket scientist to see the light: One party system if utilized to its full potential eliminates the need for votes because morality and ethics would be the basis behind patriotism.
As I look at states such as California where over fifty different candidates from regular ‘Joe Shmoe” to porn stars ran for governor during the recall election. The outcome was Actor turned politician Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected into office. From my view point had the people of California gotten together their would be no controversy as to which leader is best to lead that particular state. I don’t claim to have every answer but I do know one thing had Adolph Hitler not been such a mass murdering fascist the people of Germany and the world for that matter would quite very well have had to stand in awe at the control over a nation such as Hitler possessed.
Moreover during the years leading up to and during America’s Civil War all true blue abolitionists knew full well the importance of freedom. Non- brainwashed slaves also knew the true beauty of the freedom they dreamed of many a night after tireless work under the hot son and masters whip alike. Had freedom fighters concentrated on individual necessities I dare to say my daily routine would be picking cotton.
When the late Khalid Mohammad (out spoken leader of the new lack panthers) called for a million man march he knew a million people would be more formidable than two separate 500,000 men marches. Like the late great Malcolm X once said a slap may hurt your opponent but when you bring your fist together to strike the opponent the togetherness of your fist sends him into a whole new world of hurt.
My reluctance to vote comes from my eagerness to see unity lead to everlasting peace and prosperity.

if America were to become a one party unity what were to stop it from being like the nazi regime? we cant let the government control everything because that much power leads to corruption, which is why socialism works in theory but fails miserably in practice. If there were a one party system...what if their morals became corrupt? imagine if our present governemnt didnt have to take into consideration the publics opinion....this could go terribly terribly wrong. Thus a one party system in America is unfathomable it goes against every principle that this country was founded.
cuba might have a 97% literacy rate but how much freedom do they actually have ( until last year they werent allowed to have cell phones), their poverty is ALOT worse than that of the U.S.....there are some great aspects like the literacy rate, and health care...but there are some atrocious consequences and personal liberties that are being sacrificed
Multiple opinions, multiple parties, and competition push each party to be better in order to gain the support of the people. It brings together different ideas and forces them to implement the best possible idea and then it is up to the people to decide. Yes there is division but it is better than not having a say at all
thats why tomorrow...you should get out and vote!
