June 22, 2004 former president Bill Clinton arrived at Hue-man bookstore for a signing of his autobiography “My Life.” Hundreds of fans screamed and cheered him on “we love you bill”.
Laura of New Jersey arrived at Hue-Mans book store at ten in the morning six and a half hours before the book signing. Laura said “Bill Clinton was a wonderful president” she continued, “I am out here to support him, I love him and wish he could be president again.”

By 4:00 pm, the press began to arrive and the crowd grew in size, New York City police along with the Secret Service patrolled the front entrance of the bookstore and cordoned off the corner of 124th and 125th street.

Rose Harley a fan also standing in line said “look at all these people we love Bill, under his rule there were more jobs, there was no war we were at peace we had a president that cared. Damn I wish he could be president again” Going through the large crowd many fans
said they would like to thank him for 8 great years.

Bill Stressed

Elizabeth Gordon an elementary school teacher showed her support wearing many buttons decorated with the former president’s face and a three ring binder assorted with Clinton’s collectible cards.” I need to get a better idea of him,” Gordon said. Many in the crowd spoke of the former president’s humane qualities and viewed the positive reception that he received as proof of his remaining popularity among the Harlem residents. Many of those who attended the book signing were there as late as 11pm.
