An experienced choreographer of many dance and theater companies, including Alvin Ailey, Bill T. Jones has created more then 100 works for his own company Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and won many awards for his dance work. With all that success Bill T. Jones left his range to “out”

all his hardwork about dance. One Saturday afternoon you and your child can dance with him through his children’s book “Dance! With Bill T. Jones”

It’s an energetic and creative way to focus your child’s energy to the picture book. It includes pictures of Bill T. Jones himself demonstrating activities that can warm up their little bodies. Watch as your child creates lines and curves with their bodies and do moves that they thought were impossible. Any child can enjoy the activities in this one book.

With the inspiration from a friend that also wrote children’s books, Bill T. Jones wanted to reach out to another age range to express his love for dancing. He illustrated moves that may leave people confused, but it’s a way to show kids another way to warm the body up. Hugging yourself is a simple movement kids can do to get the body ready for a great day. He wants children to think about their bodies and to move in different ways. People can see the different movements you can make.

As a young child, he was surrounded by occupations such as migrant workers and musicians, but still found a interest in dancing. His father described it as “cutting up” and that’s what he did. He’s showing young children how to cut up and through this book, I’m sure their cutting it up even better.
