Dont Mess With The Zohan

E-mail Print PDF
zohan

Adam Sandler is back as Zohan, a top disco Israeli commando turned hair stylist. It is the most hilarious character I've ever seen him play. For a moment he took on more serious and sentimental roles in movies like, "Reign on me", "Spanglish " and "The longest yard". Although he didn't write those roles they helped to show another side of the comedian. The typical, self-written, Sandler character usually shows off his unique, comedic style much like Zohan. He is always funny but not obvious; it just comes natural to him.

In Adam Sandler's portrayal of Zohan he takes everything to the extreme. As an Israeli commando, Zohan can do the impossible. He can leap from rooftops without breaking a sweat and staying in style. However, he becomes unfulfilled in life and wants to pursue his dream as a hair stylist in the Big Apple. In a duel with his archenemy, Phantom, a Pakistani terrorist Zohan fakes his death. This becomes his escape from his life as a commando and the beginning to life as a stylist in New York. He keeps a low profile by changing his name to Scrappy Coco while landing a job in Rachquelle's a salon owned by Emmanuelle Chiriqu’. She also becomes Zohan's love interest. He manages to woo his clients, mostly older women with his unique style and uncensored activities.

There were some political and religious issues throughout the film fueled by the constant struggle between the Pakistanis and Israelis. A few cameo appearances by celebrities like John McEnroe and Mariah Carey filled in some space. The movie ended with a surprise twist that left me crying from too much laughing.
