Casa Frela Presents Fairy Tales

E-mail Print PDF

cflogoblackCasa Frela gallery is an exhibition where gay artists express them self’s through their art. Each creation represents a unique moment in that artist’s life. Briane Crede is one of the artists involved with casa frela. He lives in New York City and has always been fascinated with three-dimensional art. Crede graduated with a bachelor degree on science from Kent state university. In 1998 Briane discovered he had aids and with an unpredictable future he retired which gave him a chance to go back to art. Briane uses wire illustrations loosely based from cloisonn’e enamel work.

Anthony Gonzales another artists involved in this the gallery, has been drawing comic book hero’s since his childhood but with a twist. Gonzales began his interest in art by drawing his favorite comic book hero, Conan the barbarian. Little did he know that his drawings showed him a side of him that he did not understand. When drawing his hero, he would add erotic sexual content to the comic book hero. To keep this side locked up Anthony would have to shred his art into puzzles only he would understand. When Gonzales became a grown man, he moved to New York and rekindled with his old passion of art.

Fairy tales has helped people find themselves and clear their identity. Joel Handorff is a homosexual who participates in fairy tales to show his identity to the public. Joel has experienced and done many things, parent, political advocate, and a teacher. Now he works as an artist working on drawings of nude men and exploring the male body. He also explores his sexuality and tries to find himself.

imagesTo celebrate the gay community and there pride, casa Frela will present fairy tales: personal legend, urban myth, and gay exhibition. These artists and many more will display their work on the exhibition to show their pride of there sexuality. As time goes on, these artists have left their mark on society telling everyone there here and there queer.
