(12/2002) My name is Qasim Abdul-Aziz Davis I was born on September 21, 1985. I live with both my parents in an apartment in Harlem. I have two brothers and one sister. I am junior at Beacon high school. I enjoy playing sports listening to music (hip-hop), and writing. I am an open-minded Muslim that enjoys debating and discussing politics. Most of my time is spent writing poetry playing baseball and listening to music. I like to critique music and find myself versatile when it comes to what I listen to. I first started writing for Harlem overheard and write about a large rage of topics. My favorite color is red it has a cool quality to it and it stands for so many things that but you cant help but enjoy it’s glow. Philosophy is my stat of mind servile is my natural instinct I think therefore I am. I am a new staff member and look forward to the challenges up a head. I try to be active in my community and socially aware. Free styling is an escape for me a long with writing so I do it instead of exploding into a violent rage. The types of things that I bring to Harlem Live are an open and young but wise school of thought, that loves to write, and tries not to deviate from the truth.
